Who are we and why this blog ?
Hi! We are Rachna and Vishwaraj. We met during our first year of medical school, became best friends, and ten years later, we got married to each other.
Travel has always been a passion for us—even as busy resident doctors, we made time for short weekend trips.
After having our first child, I started researching extensively for family-friendly destinations near India, tips for traveling with young kids, essentials to carry, and how to entertain children on flights. I realized there was a serious lack of detailed blogs providing accurate information on these topics!
So, this blog is my genuine attempt to compile all the information I gather from planning trips and experiencing these places firsthand.
My goal is to encourage and help young families travel more, see more, experience more, and build a lifetime of memories together!

Why do we travel (with our kids)?
We travel with our kids because we want to experience this big, beautiful miracle called Earth with our lovely family and build amazing memories. Let me explain: It's truly a marvel that Earth exists as it does—teeming with life, a tiny speck in the vast universe. And here we are, in the right place at the right time, in a world that's more connected than ever before. No matter where we are, we can stay in touch with everyone back home, and all the information we need is at our fingertips. So, if not now, then when?

As for why I choose to travel with my young kids—admittedly, it's not always easy, quite the opposite most times. But it's worth it. Good things in life often require effort, and travel with kids is no exception. It demands planning, a flexible mindset, and more resources than solo or couple travel. Yet, when I look back at pictures from our travels, especially when they were babies, my heart swells with happiness—it's hard to put into words. Kids grow up so fast, and soon enough, studies, careers, and life takes over. That's why we aim to travel with our kids as often as we can, to as many places as we can, to experience all the beauty and wonder this world has to offer.

Why Travel is vital for kids :
Travel is important for kids because it gives them a change of perspective! Even in their young minds, they are keen observers of behavior and patterns. They see how things work differently in various parts of the world, how people may look different but share similarities, and they become less prejudiced toward unfamiliar foods and cultures.

Moreover, travel brings geography, history, culture, and food to life right before their eyes, beyond what they can learn from books. Whether it's discovering coniferous trees and fjords in Norway or exploring penguin and seal habitats in New Zealand, they experience nature and life unfolding around them. And all the while, we're collecting memories: the giggles while chasing pigs and ducks or the squeals of joy at an amusement park!

Travel teaches invaluable life skills like adaptation and problem-solving. From navigating new technologies to handling unexpected situations, they learn through real-world experiences.
How often do we travel :
As a typical family with children in school, engaged in extracurricular activities, and both parents working, we seize every opportunity to travel. We plan our major trips during the school summer holidays when we have more time available. Additionally, we take short trips whenever possible!

Our travel style:
Our travel style can be described as family-friendly adventure! We cherish road trips, enjoy wildlife experiences, and love exploring new cuisines. We prefer to travel comfortably and stay in accommodations that are family-friendly, ranging from hostels to luxury resorts. This allows us to create memorable experiences while ensuring everyone in the family feels relaxed and at ease during our journeys.
