5 days itinerary to Andaman islands.

The Andaman and Nicobar Islands are a cluster of stunning islands in the Indian Ocean and are part of the Union Territory of India. Port Blair is well-known for the Cellular Jail, which once held freedom fighters as prisoners during India's freedom struggle. Other islands, such as Havelock and Neil Island, have gained fame over time due to their beautiful beaches and excellent snorkeling opportunities in the surrounding reefs.

Here is a detailed account of how to go about this trip:

Day 1: Arrival and Ferry to Havelock Island

Taking an early morning flight to Port Blair helps maximize your time on the islands. It is a long flight from every main city in India. Upon reaching Port Blair, head straight to the ferry terminal. The ferry ride from Port Blair to Havelock usually takes around an hour. You can use this time to get some rest and enjoy the scenic views. We chose Makruzz for our journey to Havelock, and it was a very comfortable trip. The ferry is well-maintained and offers a smooth ride. Upon arrival in Havelock, check into your hotel. We stayed at Silver Sands Resort, which provided excellent amenities and a serene environment. Spend the evening walking along the eastern coast beach, enjoying the vast expanse of the sky and the calming sound of the waves. It’s a perfect way to unwind after a day of travel.

Beautiful beaches and gorgeous sunsets!

Day 2: Elephant Beach and Radhanagar Beach

On Day 2, start your day early and head to Elephant Beach for some water sports. Elephant beach is a short boat ride away from the Havelock main jetty. You can choose and pay for activities either at the jetty or once you reach Elephant Beach. The beach offers a variety of activities, including snorkeling, sea walking, banana boat rides, water skiing, and glass-bottom boat rides. The beach is stunning, with pristine blue waters, making it perfect for water sports. There are changing rooms, toilets, and snack stalls available on the island, ensuring a comfortable visit. You can easily spend half the day here, so getting there early in the morning is recommended to avoid the crowds.

After returning to the jetty, grab lunch at one of the nearby restaurants. Then, head to the famous Radhanagar Beach. The scooter ride to Radhanagar Beach is a beautiful experience, passing through lush farmland and forests. Alternatively, you can hike from Elephant Beach to Radhanagar Beach if you're up for an adventure. Radhanagar Beach is one of the best beaches in Asia, offering white sands, clear waters, and stunning views. Spend the afternoon here. Catch a breathtaking sunset at Radhanagar Beach before heading back to your resort.

In the evening, Havelock Island is a great place to watch the night sky. Spend the evening stargazing with your family, making it a memorable end to a fun-filled day.

Day 2: Kala Patthar Beach

Spend this day at the stunning Kala Patthar Beach. In our opinion, this beach is even more beautiful than Radhanagar Beach. It is less crowded and far less commercialized than Elephant Beach. There are small huts that provide shade, making it a perfect spot for a picnic lunch. It's an ideal place to swim in the water while the kids play in the sand. However, a word of caution: the undercurrents at this beach can be unexpectedly strong, so be careful while swimming.

Day 4 - Port Blair

Head back to Port Blair on an early morning ferry. Check into your hotel and then head to Ross Island. This island reflects the remnants of India's colonial past, housing ruins of several buildings made the Indian prisoners. It is now home to free-roaming deer and peacocks. Later in the evening, attend the sound and light show at the Cellular Jail to get a glimpse of India's freedom struggle and the atrocities faced by the freedom fighters and activists housed in this jail.
