Among all the countries we have visited so far, these are our favorite five places in the world, that not only have a lot of kid-friendly activities, but are also easy to get around, offer a variety of food options, and have plenty of things to do for adults as well.
1.Copenhagen, Denmark -
This beautiful city is the capital of Denmark. What makes it special is its excellent public transport. You can live anywhere in the city and easily reach the city center via an extensive network of buses and metro. The city card, easily available at the airport and information centers, allows for free public transport within the city. Alternatively, you can buy the Copenhagen City Card for 1, 2, or 3 days, which not only includes free public transport but also grants entry to many tourist attractions, such as museums, the zoo, canal boat rides, palaces, and Tivoli Gardens.
The Copenhagen city center is best explored on foot. We highly recommend visiting the Botanical Gardens and Butterfly Garden, exploring Rosenborg Castle and its grounds, enjoying the beautiful waterfront, and ending the day at Nyhavn. The Copenhagen Zoo, included in the city card, is a must-visit with kids! The aquarium, located near the airport, is also a must-see when in Copenhagen with children. Tivoli Gardens can be a fun place for the whole family, with a variety of rides to enjoy. The place looks especially gorgeous when the lights come up in the evening!

Another small city that can be explored on foot is Salzburg. The Salzburg Card offers free public transport and entrance to various attractions, such as the Salzburg Fortress, the zoo, and Hellbrunn Palace and Fountains. If you enjoy hiking with kids, you can explore the Untersberg mountain and the trails around it. Near the airport, the Red Bull Hangar, with planes and automobiles on display, is a great stop for kids. Salzburg is also an excellent base for taking day trips to Berchtesgaden, the Bavarian Alps, and the famous Hallstatt.
